Youth Wingshooting Clinic and Pheasant Hunt Nov. 10 at Johnson-Sauk Trail SRA

Free Event for Youth Ages 10-17 Hosted by IDNR and Local Chapters of Pheasants Forever

KEWANEE, IL – Girls and boys ages 10-17 are invited to participate in a free Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Youth Wingshooting Clinic and Pheasant Hunt on Sat., Nov. 10 at Johnson-Sauk Trail State Recreation Area near Kewanee.

Young hunters must have passed an approved Hunter Safety Education course and must have a valid Illinois hunting license to participate in the pheasant hunt. Youth must be at least 4-feet 6-inches tall and weigh at least 75 pounds to participate.

Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m., with wingshooting instruction beginning at 8:00 a.m. Instruction during the morning wingshooting clinic will be provided by NSCA/IDNR Certified Wingshooting Instructors. The pheasant hunt during the afternoon will follow lunch at the park’s Red Earth Café, provided by Pheasants Forever.

The event is sponsored by the IDNR, the Rock Island and Henry County Chapters of Pheasants Forever, and the Knox County Chapter of Pheasants Forever.
